OUR HISTORY

The adventure began a long time ago at the end of the 19th century. Louis Roguet was then the owner of some land planted with vines whose grapes were only intended for sale to the trade. Very quickly his son, Lucien, accompanied him to the vineyards to learn and continue the work necessary for the proper development of the grapes. He then decided to create his own champagne and produced a few bottles under his name "Lucien Roguet".

Unfortunately, the Second World War and the lack of resources of the people of Champagne at the time disrupted his plans and desires. Having moved to the Toulouse area for a short while during this war, Lucien fell in love with this beautiful region and did not want to return to Champagne. His young son Pol decided otherwise... He took his destiny in hand and rebuilt the vineyard, very aware of the qualitative potential of the Mailly Champagne terroir.

Owner of a comfortable surface area that opens the doors to autonomy, he sets foot in the stirrup and gives birth to the champagne "Pol Roguet" confirming a real capacity to produce simple and effective blends where he subtly and elegantly marries the three Champagne grape varieties from his Grand Cru classified terroir, to develop a typical and exclusive champagne. With the care worthy of a perfectionist, he gives everything to his vines which return the favor by producing healthy and balanced grapes.

Assisted by his wife, his son Alain and his daughter-in-law Ida, he acquired a loyal clientele and sold around 25,000 bottles per year, while remaining in control of all stages of the production of his Champagne.
It was at this time, and to avoid any disputes with a famous trading brand with a very similar surname, that the brand became "Lucien Roguet" again, thus paying tribute to his father's first bottles.

Today, his grandson Samuel, accompanied by his mother Ida and his partner, has taken over the family business and continues the work of the elders, in the cult of family Tradition. Always concerned with the best blend for his vintages, Samuel produces his champagne in accordance with the rules of the House. He favors the permanence and balance of taste that has made the good reputation of the brand and also composes some rare bottles for the pleasure of all, and for his own.

The Roguet family cultivates approximately 7 hectares of vines and produces 45,000 to 50,000 bottles each year. It refines its image through careful communication and thus increases the brand image of the champagne "Lucien Roguet" perpetuating the reputation acquired over so many years.
